Ok my problem is that my insurance company want proof that my GSi has an alarm fitted, i know all GSi's were fitted with factory alarm & immobiliser,
i have checked the log book & nothing in there shows it has a factory alarm fitted, please help...

get them to speak to vauxhall dude.
or go to the insurer and show them...

They wont speak to Vauxhall have tried that method, they need a certificate of installation, my insurer is Tesco's so god knows where the HQ is though i just might turn up at the local supermarket see if they can help

cant you go to vauxhall and ask about getting a certificate of some sort

standard-fit vaux alarms... mine never had a certificate!
if in doubt, see vaux & ask them & tell them what the insurance are saying!

You may have inadvertantly told them it was a cat1 or whatever, tell them it's just a std vaux one and that the only way to prove is to speak to vauxhall.

i found this out on thurs when i locked the door when it was open and put the key in the ignition, an alarm started going off!! l:

My 1.4 sport had a factory alarm fitted, the GSI that i have now does not seem to have one, well i cant see any sensors.
you sure they are not talking about a thatchem approved alarm that should have been installed externally e.g toad,cobra,clifford type alarms.
