Hi,
I need to get myself a laptop for uni and have found what i think is a stunning deal.
Its this unit HERE
Now i can get this brand new for £499.99
I know its a old model but is it a good PC?
All i will want it for is doing uni work on, Bit of programming, watching, downloading and buring DVD's and CD's, Using iTunes on it and playing the odd game.
So does this sound good? any bad points of the unit that you can see?
I Really appreciate the help people!

only limitation is the 40gb hard drive, but you can always burn stuff to disk/dvd.

Makro have them in.
Just wasnt too sure about the 1 hour battery life
Cant really justify spening twice that on a Dell laptop just to have 3 years arrenty on it. Its alot more money to spend

Although you can get Inspiron with 3 years warranty for around £500 too... with DVD-RW etc too...
I'd probably get the Vaio though. Only issue with laptops is when the screens go. My work's had so many screens replaced in the 3rd year of the warranty, it might be worth paying a little extra for...

Just ordered an Acer Aspire 1691, should be here within the next 2 weeks... Comets spec list seems quite impressive, and the price I'm getting it for is very pleasing, bought it from work on a sales to staff thing, get it tax free and interest free and shit, plus Leeds City Council give free lifetime warenty, cos they do in house repairs
