as far as i know the 1.2 one is to wide.... i think a 1.0 12v is what you need... I THINK!
personally i'm gonna try and find one of them fancy twin fan jobbies.... there supposed to fit a treat and keep things nice and cool
bodge..... cut the longest arm off the fan and pop rivet the loose bit to something.... look in adam-b's garage... i think it was him i seen it done on anyways...

no its the way it was with the 1.2 engine as the pipeing was rite for it but cause the xe is diff had 2 do the extra work, it actualli sitts on brackets so its level and is sprayed black so u can see it

see on my 20xe corsa, i just used the rad and fan that came with the 1400 16v sri i put the engine in. fitted no problems, no cutting of nothing and sits far enough away from the engine aswell. every other one ive seen has had bother with it.
then again, on the turbo power of greyskull bus got the 1600 rad in, and the fan on the normal side just by cutting the whole left side of the fan off. fits no bother and thats with an intercooler, pas cooler and oil cooler under the front panel aswell.
my cars must just be a bit weird. everything seems to just fall back into place

Im sure thats upside down as I bought a new rad for my XE for a 1.2/1.4 and fits the right way up..
