I have a Pioneer DEH-P8400MP Head unit knocking about and the display seems to disappear now and again and the headunit keeps closing.
Is this a common fault? or Is there anything simple I can fix i.e. does cable need replacing? or is it not fixable??
Any help mucho appreciated

It happened with my 8500MP, which is basically the american model of the 8400mp, pretty much identical.
It was either the ribbon cable on the front panel, or just how loose the connection between the front panel and the unit becomes after removing the face off so many times.
