I've got me a Gsi rear spoiler. Its all painted ready to go. Is it a difficult job to mount it? I'm guessing there's some drilling involved. Or should i give it to a body shop to do....?

Thanks

well the black plastic plate kinda speaks for itself where that goes... then go and buy a pipe joiner and a wiring grommet so you can connect up the new washer jet in it (the OE one in your tailgate will jus pop out).
Then take that black bit off.... and stick a dab of white/black paint (depending on the colour of yer car) on the ends of the spoiler studs, start with the top two. have a person at each side of the car to hold it. If you get it in the right place then the spoiler will overlap the edge of the tailgate by just a mm or 2, so long as you cant see the edge. Press it down so it leaves a dot, then get drillin! Then do the same with the bottom holes. If you cock it up dont forget you can always file out the holes a bit if needed, but dont forget to stick some paint on the bare metal thats left (or maybe waxoil?). Originally they also have some strong as hell double sided tape along the top edge and down the sides, putting some more on will stop it rattling. This is how they are fitted to original SRi's/GSi's in my experience.
To fit the spoiler on after all this then fit on the black plate, and line up the main spoiler with it and slot it on. keep pushing it on (from the back of the car forward) until the bolts drop in2 the holes. then screw it all on tight to the plate & tailgate

Asleep yet? think i am
