have you tried jacikng it up taking the weight off the wheel and shaking it from side to side of top to bottom? it sounds more like a track-rod or ball joint problem to me.

try other wheels on it, b4 u try an get the wheels fixed though

going to kwik fit in the morning just to put front wheels on balancing machine to see if they are buckled

took it to kwik fit today. the drivers side front wheel was very slightly buckled. they balanced the two front wheels, then swapped the buckled wheel with one of the rears, and the steering is alot better. and there is hardly any wheel shaking now 
they didnt even charge me for it
