Are the wiring looms on the C16XE and the X14XE the same? can the 1400 loom be use on the 1600 engine with them being more or less the same?

a x14xe would run on a c16xe ecu and loom, disabling egr... not sure how well though... whereas the c16 would need the egr to fitted to it to make it work and run the x14 ecu, again probably not all that well. The x14 ecu will not fit the c16 loom and vice versa

you said the X14 loom will go on the C16 loom THEN you said the ecu wont fit either

no it wont. different ecu plugs and the c16xe has an air flow meter plug and no plugs for the secondary air pump solenoid or the fuel tank vent valve.
the x14xe has these. and a map sensor instead of the air flow meter.
