When my external pump goes on and we advance the timing a bit it should be phase 3.5, plus a bit?
Ditching this engine though, going for a big step up I hope....

So do I do something similar to JR (minus the stripping of the car)
Or do I go for TB...........
Baring in mind i only know a small bit about tuning compared to some peeps on here so there is bound to be pros and cons for both options that havent even crossed my mind/I wasnt even aware of!
So what would be the pros and cons of both my options.
Money isnt really to much of an option as I save like a bee-yatch if I want something!
Cheers guys
There are no cons apart from the expense.
If you want something economical to build and run, do a JR.
If you want something lunatic, go full house with balancing, knife edged steel crank, light weight rods, forged pistons, proper head work, lairy cams, bigger valves with extra springs, bespoke manifolds, dry sump conversion, throttle bodies etc etc etc. The list (and cost) is endless.

But your going to struggle for more than 250bhp...
If you spent that on a LET you would have nearer 500 or 600bhp....

250 is hardly lame though, especially aspirated and in such a stupidly light car
Lovely throttle response but probably too much grunt for such a short/small car, so 5 or 600 would be totally unusable.

It would be in the lower gears, but its easy to map different boost for different gears....
That power in 4th onwards would be an unbelievable feeling....

Yeah, especially as you torquesteer into a potato field at 190 mph
Huge power Cosworth turbo powered MK II Escorts (nearly as dangerous) invariably used to be fitted with micro switches on the gear shift gate to select different preset boost levels and ignition advance and fueling. Nice touch.

Thats a mod I've considered for mine when the new lump is finally done.
I'd consider the Mk2 Escorts more dangerous, thay are RWD!
I can lift off and it just goes straight from torque steer in a straight line, a RWD beast will be wanting to do allsorts!

Indeed - live dangerously
Actually, provided you've got the car balanced nicely and your on the ball with the steering, if you keep it flat; the car will either hold a nice drift or pull itself straight.
Very satisfying

Not kidding! That would put a serious smile on my face!
Now you have got me thinking, do I spend mad on a new engine, or buy a Mk2?

I can't afford to do both!
Budgeted 6-7k for a new engine, clutch, flywheel and diff.
But if I sold the corsa I'd have more to play with....
I'm on a mission with the Corsa though now.... just bought that stack dash with future plans in mind, I'd be crackers to sell now after all the hours that have gone into it already in perparation!

Finish the lil Vaux nicely and keep it forever, then start saving carefully to build a full house, loony spec Grp 4 Escort.
70 grand should do it
It's the only way

I think after the Vaux is done I'll need to buy a house to live in ROFL
So no more cars!
Unless I win the lottery
