Does anyone know if you receive a fine instantly when your car's tax has expired, or if there is some time delay before a fine is given.

Thanks

You "might" get a couple of days grace because they are downloading reports. But you shouldnt really.

How much is the fine? A girl at work says she's just gonna wait til payay (Oct 7th) til she buys her road tax
Says she's gonna hide the car under a sheet in the garage and she'll be fine

I got done on a car I dont drive much last month, it took just over a month to come. They give you the option to pay asap £40 plus the money not paid in tax for the month £26.00 or you have till the end of the next month to pay and its £80 and £26.00.
