What does your contract state?
Are you paid for your lunch hour?
There is a law every 4 hours you are intitled to 15mins break BY LAW.

I used to sit at my desk, eat and read during my lunch but i constantly got told to go and do jobs even though i was on lunch.
So now i head off with my book and lunch to my car. instead of taking an hour i take 1hr and 15 now just cos i have to walk to a from my car.
It does take the piss

I get 30 mins for lunch, but it normally takes me 35/40 mins to eat/drink it all. Then i do half hour of hardcore browsing before i begin any more work. I continue to browse whilst doing work after my hardcore browsing session...

you can have a 20 minute break if you work 6 hours or more by law. You can take this whenever you like in the 6 hours. They don't have to pay you for it though.

I get 30 mins a day for lunch... if I took 1 hour for lunch I'd have to work 9 - 5:30, instead of 9-5... cos the hours wouldn't work out right.
No matter what I do at my desk I have to do work, I can come in on my day off and sit at my desk to chat about non work stuff with my boss as I normally do... bring him some DVD's or games or what ever, if anyone walks in I'm often the only on that can help

If i do a 9-5 day shift then i'm meant to not have a break! Asthere is only me on it means shutting the shop and i'd get sack if i got caught doing that.
I take the money down at dinner time and get dinner then, the other sucker do this before the shop opens at 10am and work through.

If any of us actually go to the tea room at 10ish to take our tea break we get dirty looks from the management.
Arseholes!
