Hi,
Anyway i can get winamp to playback mp3s on all 7 of my speakers.... i've got the correct soundcard and settings creative settings, control panel's sound bit and in my output on winamp .etc

Music isnt recorder in multiple channels AFAIK. Some is in 5.1 but I've never heard of any in 7.1.....

In theory the Creative programs will convert it into 7.1 sound, so with the correct settings in Creative it should work.

check winamp settings, you can change it for different type of setups iirc.

begs the question, why would you want to listen in 7.1 surround?

i have.... SB Audigy 2 ZS Audio (B800) Platinum jobby... its configured ton run on 7.1 in Creatives own settings, in the control panel sound and audio device + in winamp preferences i have selected in Plug Ins >>> Output >> Direct Sound Ouput *blah blah blah* then within that>>> the sound card and relevant options

ffdshow will do it.
ffdshow will decode about any audio or video you might want to use also.
The main site doesn't seem to be working atm but just search on google.

gashism i already have that codec i have everyone under the sun for my HD full of porn but how do i enable it in winamp do i use it as an output but which .dll

I would uninstall everything else apart from that.
ffdshow works by replacing other codecs.
When playing whatever ffdshow icon should come up in the taskbar.
If you manage to get it to do that I can tell you how to get it through all speakers.

click on the ffdshow that comes up in the taskbar to get the options up.
Go to the mixer option.
Tick that then pick what option you want to use in the dropdown box.
I only have 5.1 here so not sure exactly what options you'll have.

ffdshow doesnt show up now... removed all codecs includindg ffd then rebooted then reinstalled ffd and reboot then ran winamp nd nothin
