Seem to remember that Pal to NTSC was a problem or was it the other way round??
Anyway, no there's no convertor in car, you'll need to get a Power oggy-ma-flip that converts the power in car. The same that people use for PS2s etc etc

Why do you want to convert PAL to NTSC?
Most DVD players can output PAL or NTSC and PS2's put out NTSC once chipped.

confused now.
I have multi region dvd player. and kenwood KVT - M700 headunit, brought from NOVAGTE. I thought this unit switched between PAL/NTSC, but after looking in the manual it only supports NTSC.
so i cant play my region 2 dvds on the screen.

That unit does auto switching between NTSC and PAL. Have you actually tried playing a PAL dvd into it?
If it isnt auto switching the screen will be black and white.

you can't convert pal to ntsc ... pal is a higher resolution with a few more lines to it (like lines on a tv) ... ntsc technology can't cope with it
... for example if you took a pal dvd from england to america it won't play on their machines or tvs

You can convert PAL to NTSC and there are convertors available but there are two types.
Analog convertors are cheap but the end result is usually a squashed picture or fuzzyness.
Digital convertors are expensive but do the job.
Or you could just copy the DVD's to your computer then recode them to NTSC then you will have a perfect output

brought a region 1 dvd, tried it out and still got black/white fuzzy picture.
decided dvd player is the problem, so read the manual. Needed to switch the dvd player to NTSC.
And for reference i can play region 2 dvds and the dvd player puts out a ntsc signal.
