ok in your driver's footwell look down at your feet then to the right,

theres a plastic that goes from your dash down to the floor. take that off and you will find a silver box - thats your ECU

you may have difficulty fitting it if the car is a later model as the ecu has to be flash programmed rather that just plugging in the new chip. also make sure you know what you are doing! e-proms are very sensitive to static, you should wear an earth strap on your wrist whilst doing it.

and even then you will find the car will just run rich because superchips are crap.

yes it does. but whats the point in that? it just runs rich.

ive re-built 2 x16xe's that were run with a superchip. both showed signs of overfuelling

almost. overfuelling means the air/fuel ratio is too high, and engine will lose power

is there really any benefit of getting a superchip or uni chip? if someone could tell me what the difference is, how much setting up costs and what they'd do to me x14xe that'd be super happy mega cool.

also what would one do on a x16xe with lexmaul inlet (the plan for next summer possibly if i still have it)

Lexmaul does not require any aftermarket chip/programable ECU, since it makes the most from the standard map and cams

a superchip will do NOTHING for your performance! why put more fuel in if the car doesnt need it?

what you need to do is remove the inlet restriction by fitting a mantzel or dbilas style manifold, then think about other mods.

i would get a dbilas. can get them from regal.

does the same job as the mantzel but in my opinion the build quality is a bit better. (although i had a mantzel)
