Been having issues with vibration over 60 MPH and tracking going out, had all track rods, ball joints etc checked and all is well, had wheels balanced 3 times and all is well. When I last had tracking done I drove home and it was out again!

Now stupid me never looking has just realised I do indeed have a front anti roll bar...

1) should my car have it? 1.4 corsa flair, L reg, 1993
2) could it be causing me problems pushing the tracking out?

Cheers

Don't think it should. Only, SRi's, Sport's and GSi's have them. Maybe SXI's too, but not sure.

Yeah I thought so, pretty strange its on there but then again I did buy it lowered with 15's etc so.. probably trying to help the handling lol but someone told me you get better handling on these cars without it if your suspension is too stiff? As it can lift a wheel off the ground under cornering?

strut brace wont really do much, an anti roll bar is prob a good option, go for a gsi one think its the thickest one they do, it will help with high speed stability. i removed mine for a while, but i have avo coilovers, found it handled better, less understeer, then i put it back on and sofened the coilovers up and again i had improvements. i say get one on and have softer suspension. if the tracking is going out just from driving home id say take it back and get them to sort it out properly, it shouldn't do that

Cheers guys. I'll get the tracking done agaaain, see if it plays ball, if not I'll ask them to see if they reckon the anti roll bar could be causing me probs... it looks to be fitted alright to be honest.

Why, should lowered cars instantly have tracking and vibration problems? What would be the point in lowering the car if so?

Can ya give me a bit more depth why it'd cause vibrations and put the tracking out? I mean its not actually that low at all and the shocks still work fine, not long passed its MOT and tester said they're alright. I want to get a full kit anyway but not just at the mo until I'm half way to sorting out this cars other problems lol

All Corsa's apart from the Merit came with a front ARB, although the stock item on base models like LS etc is only 9mm IIRC, Sport and GSi got a 12mm ARB, and a 9mm on the rear.

well basically whats happening is because theres shorter springs on the car the dampers when hitting deviations in the ground are trying to expand more but are unable to due to the shorter stiffer spring,so every bump in the road that you feel is reflected by the damper trying to expand more, were as if you get uprated shockers that are stiffer then it will eliminate this problem because the shockers arent expanding or retracting hardly, you can pick g-max shockers up for about 45.00 a shocker normally, its quite a common problem

cheers timmy i guess its possible, I just didnt expect a constant vibration/shaky steering wheel due to this. Not sure wether to get gmax shockers for me -35mm springs or get a full -60mm kit lol

well a say g-max because atm there the most cheep and cheerful shocks any uprated shocks will be fine but its a common fact with most cars with uprated springs, that uve got,any slight deviation in the road your springs will pick up on,theres not much else it could be without it being something out the blue, give shocks a wirl tho because at the end of the day youve got better suspension and solved a problem
