If its popping and banging doesnt that suggest that its something to do with fueling ? Have you tried different HT leads ? Also MAF sensor or lambda could be shagged so when you boot it at full throttle its putting too much fuel in and flooding the engine.

Mine is doing the same no where near as bad though, popping a bit down the revs but mine is idleing really poorly so doubt its the same problem, however its been fine today think its a intermittent problem, has he tried new leads ?

Sounds fueling related, check the MAP line is intact. also the TPS plug, check its in ok, as fuelign is dicated by TPS MAP and crank sensor. Crank sensor woudl bring up a code, but I don't think a slightly fault TPS of MAP would.
Wouldn't expect it to be lambda as it's only under full loads it's happening?

Also how do you blow oil seals if you over fill it? I've never understood where this idea comes form the pump doesn't suddenly start pumpign at a higher pressure, you just get increased drag on the crnak and it has to move through the oil the whole time.

i rang vauxhall today, and they suggested egr, as it would have got a bit clogged with the extra oil, and cause it to run rich due to it acting like a choke, and it would also make it slower under load if it was open, and pop and bang all the time

im gonna replace it and hope its sorted
