been trying to get a loan, as i havent had a loan before or any other finances. companies arent accepting me. i have a credit card, and i pay back every month. i have no outgoings a month,so will be able to afford to repay loan easy. tried:
- Post Office ---not accepted
- Northenroack ---Accepted but 9.9%
so applied for allience and leister and going into my banks after Abbey and Halifax to see what they can do.
i thought its easy to get a good cheap loan these days. but bloody hell its proven hell!!
anyone else found this? with not having a loan before?

I've not got a loan but have a credit card that I use occasionally (I always pay it back before I have to start paying interest) and got told it would mean I'd be able to get a loan just cos I have a credit card?
Also if you have an account with a building society rather than a normal bank and you regularly put money into it then your apparently more likely to get a loan. Never had to apply for a loan so far myself so dont know how true it is!

I would take northenrock.
I would try only one more company. I had a small loan for a small period which I have now paid off and I used Tesco's, they were fantastic.. I think i paid 6.7%,
Remember the APR is all dependant on your own circumstances...
If you start applying for loads of loans and they keep rejecting you it will look bad on your credit rating...
That's why i say go for the northanrock one..

If you apply for too many places and dont get accepted it can make your credit rating worse so if your not getting accepted maybe wait a few months

nationwide!
Trouble is - if you've been declined by one place, they transfer info between each other so they know if you've been turned down.
Use the bank you bank with.

Not when many places are offering sub 6, overdrafts are cheap and intro offers on credit cards are often zero.

Depends also how much you need and over how long. It can vary wildly. I was looking at the Barclayloan stuff yesterday and it varies from 19% if you take a few grand to 6ish if you take the full 25k.
I've argued with Rock in the past and got it lower than quoted in the original paperwork. When you have the agreement set up and they send you the stuff to sign and send back, phone up and tell them you want it lower.

Don't keep applying for them
Everytime you apply for a loan that goes against your credit history and other loan companies can see this, not being funny but I would just go with the Northern Rock one else you might end up not being able to get anything.
