winamp i feel is better you can srink it nicely and hide it on your screen but still have it "always on top"
the only thing you need is codecs to work certian vids etc....

you have have mini players with media player and also always on top.
I personally just have it set so that its in the task bar with the controls showing.

I detest Media Player, have always used winamp for music, it's a bit of a pain using it for Videos for some reason though, can't really explain.
Good bit of kit

What do you detest about it?
Or are you just jumping on the anti-Microsft band wagon?

Don't know what i detest to be honest, just don't like it at all, tend to use DivX player for movies and winamp for music.
Just personal preference really

Yeh IMO, Winamp is good. Its all I use, just takes a while to set it up to exactly what you want. However, it is better than Media Player in the respect that you can customise it far more and IMO it is more practical for more varieties of media

I use iTunes, it does all I never need it to and it keeps my music all sorted at the same time.

Only prob I found with iTunes was that the sound quality from the PC to A Hifi was wank compared to either Winamp or Media Player?! I dont know why but that was the only problem I had with it! Plus I had a plug in for my iPod in Winamp so ddnt use iTunes in the end
