I have been getting my info from parkers aswell
What other VAG cars share the 130 and 150PD lumps?
Passat, but the engine is much better suited to the Golf as it's much more light and nimble than the Passat and it's a nicer car to drive with a better driving position.

My Dad has a MK5 Golf GT TDi with 140bhp and its fucking rapid for a derv. Couldn't believe how much quicker it was over the MK4 115TDi I've been in. but suppose its a different engine as they are now 2.0 rather than 1.9.
I'd go for a Golf TDi 150 over a petrol GTi!
Mk IV 150PD is even quicker than the MK V too.

3rd time steering rack was replaced but its still clunking! Its set to go back again but to a different dealer that can hopefully sort it!
Not very good on a brand new car but everything else is faultless
I had to replace a set of front brake pads under warranty on a brand new MK V a while back because they were making a clunking noise in the caliper when manoevering at low speeds.
Only had it on one car, but it's a thought.

I hate volkswagens but their PD unit is unique and unlike any diesel engine i've ever experienced before.
I am almost positive that nobody that has driven a 150PD MK IV Golf will disagree with me on this one.
They truly are quite bizarre cars to drive after becoming used to what is the norm in the diesel world.

Will keep looking then.
What do insurance companies think of these cars? do they charge high premiums for them?
