Ah right, I looked at a few SRi's but I prefered the shape of the coupe.

When I was searching autotrader/ebay etc there were quite a few irmscher kitted astras as long as you were willing to travel

the astra mk4 introduceed 1.8 sri whihc has got a z engine which has preety decent performace not to sure if it is faster than the 2 litre overall .its quicker to 60 i think its 8.5 seconds for the 1.8 z

Not all the mk4's have got the better 1.8 engine though.
As said already, astrasport is a good place to have a look.

Early 1.8 Sports had a 115bhp engine and it was wank

2.0 16v SRi's are 136bhp and do 0-60 in 8.5 seconds top end of 131mph

The later 1.8 16v's with 125bhp do 0-60 in 8.5 seconds and have a top whack of 131mph.

I would get a later 1.8 16v, better spec, normally have colour coded door handles, has a spoiler etc.

i assume the corsa 1.8 engine is that same as the astra so why is the top speed lower?
