what exhaust system and what garage could make my xe`d corsa nice and quiet
my local garage is having trouble getting it quiet

If you have a catalytic convertor fitted as well as a large center silencer then you will be off to a good start.
Also, consider using an air box rather than an induction kit. It makes a pretty big difference.
I know what you mean, I hate noisy cars, they look so chav...

I didnt mind the sound of my valver when on sort journeys, get sat on a motorway doing 70odd and feck me, no thankyou!

don`t wanna put a cat on a 1990 engine

Think you'll struggle unless you really restrict the the speed the gases come out at.

replace the centre box with one off a transit van. that makes a big difference to the noise apparently.

You could get a silenced de-cat pipe... i.e. a silencer put in where the cat should go...

Got a standard GSI one on mine and its pretty quiet.
Cant really tell that the 20xej's under the bonnet, although the system is completely shot now and the baffles are loose. The standard system is also very very restrictive and knocks off quite a bit of top end speed.
Just gonna buy a group n system off regal and if its too loud maybe get a small middle silencer put in?
