i have just put a 1.4 8v into my corsa 1.2 8v and was woundering if i would need to change the ECU to a 1.4 ecu or not, as it seams to be blacking the plugs up fast then not fireing on all cylinders.

is the 1.4 you put in a SPi or MPi fuelled? If its a SPi then its not a Sri 8v, but in that case you could use any Corsa 1.4 8 valve SPi ecu.
If its a MPi then you will need the Sri ECU. I think that all 1.4 Mpi corsa 8 valve are the same power, wether its Sri or not. Don't know if the SRi was the only 8 valve engine to use MPi.

i think the std 1.4 Spi engines were around 60hp. Were as the Mpi was uch higher, maybe something round 82 or possibly near 90 dunno.
As was said that it would'nt have been worth while changing your 1.2 45bhp engine to a 60bhp, but its done now so just hope it was the MPi you put in.
