.....to the boot. How should I join the battery cables together. Do I need to run the neg terminal to the boot too? or can it be grounded in the bay with the neg battery termianl grounded it the boot space. What guage wire should be used?

pop round mine mate, have a look. You need 2 project boxes for the connections under the bonnet (couple of quid from maplin) and go to turners on leechmere for some zero gauge cable to run the 12v+ to the boot. then some earth cable to earth he battery in the boot.
