if finallly got my 1 year well chuffed i was paying 1745 third party on my 1.0 now its droped to 600 fully comp woth everything stated. just to get my new engine now looking to go for a 1.6 i think.
have anyone put a 1.8 astra or vectra engine in there corsa's never heard of anyone doing this?

depends which 1.8

if its a X18XE, it'll need a conversion kit, so you might as well go for a 2 litre

if its a Z18XE, then it will fit on 1.6 mounts, but you wont be able to wire it up without lots of money and effort

best option is to stick to either a 1.6, or a 2 litre

1.6 is good for silly power anyway
2 litre is fairly decent standard

Dont take the 1.8 engines!! they are so crappe especcialy the vectras engine...i mean seriouse problems my dads had 2 new in his ...my m8s mother has had a new engine and look at ebay a lot there for spars repair due to engine knakerd!!

think a 1.6 then would like a quite low milage one with everything with it how much u recon i could pick one up for. i see alot of 2.0 and 1.4spi but never 1.6.

X16XE would be about 350 quid, then you'll need a few bits from vauxhall

about £400 should cover engine and bits

you were paying 1745 for a third party insurance on a 1 litre????!?!!??! mine was only 1100 a year for my old 1.2 16v. and its only 1250 now with a 1.4. cant wait to get my full years no claims

alrite jonny (u sold me that spoiler agers ago if u remember) yep bloody stupid money ive bin quoted 900 for a 1.6 sport fully comp.

hope it amkes that much diff to me 1760 tpft on a 1.0 thou im paying 1800 on my car everything stated
