so what happens if you buy the shite version then want to use hdmi out? - sounds like another toss idea to me - as its forcing people to buy the more expensive version  Personally, i would just include different cables in the different console versions like with the 360, far better idea

MD was a massive failure, I don't think DVD was sony.
Its not just sony anyway, there are lots of people on both sides.
Microsoft hasn't put all their eggs in one basket though, they can easily jump over to bluray if need be.
I think CD was phillips actually.
I'll go and have a look.

It was phillips, and reading up on dvd's sony were at 1st behind another standard that would have competed with what the dvd was at the time.
Sony don't have much luck with format battles it seems.
Better hope they win it this time.

heard that the nintendo console will only cost £150!, and people at e3 were saying its better than the ps3, infact the ps3 got slagged off abit. anyone got any idea how much the games will be for the ps3?

Nobody knows what price the Wii will be, just that its under 500 dollars.
From what I seen the ps3 is much better.
Nintendo are going for a totally different experience to the ps3 and xbox.
If you want graphics the Wii will disappoint.

after reading that article i have made my mind up and im going to get the xbox 360 with a HDTV after xmas, when the ps3 drops to a more sensible price and if it actually turns out to be a better console than the xbox then i will get one aswell

As soon as somebody says they stole the controller from nintendo the rest of the article is drivel because the guy doesn't know what hes talking about.
The atari had a motion sensitive controller and the pc market had them back in 1999.
This stuff about the base model missing hdmi etc isn't looking very good though.
I'll need to look into that more.
