car failed MOT on emmissions, put car in last week and passed on emmisions but failed something else. MOT retest yesteday and CO level went from 0.2-7.49% and other readings went up too? diagnos test came up with idle control system, main relay and crankshaft position. HELP!

A little trick that may be usefull. Drive your car at 40mph in 3rd gear, then drop it into second, then all the crap shouls be blown out, and will reduce your emissions.

Emissions....

Fixes can include one or more of the following:

- give it a good blast up and down once ure engine is warm changing gears and reaching a whole range of revs
- have the MOT'er test it when ure CAT is up to a normal operating temperature
- run your fuel down to fairly low and pour in a whole bottle of redex to clean out your injectors and so on (u can use anything similar to redex)
- change your lambda sensor
- change your cat

yeah it should be warm.
