Like a sump, yeah you could, if you have a big tank you really need to run and external filter.

Your filter basically grows nice bacteria (i feel like thatadvert) which help to change ammonia (nitrate cycle) You still have to remove around 20 odd% each week tho as the levels will still become too high. Some fish are lean meen shitting machines. Plus excess food ect braking down. Its not thatbad tbh. I just get a big bucket of water add the aquasafe stuff to remove harmful chemicals. Use another bucket and a syphon to clean the sand by the time thats clean iv took out about 25% of the water anyways so you jsut then syphon the clean stuff in. Also clean your filter medium in used tank water so you dont lose too many good bacteria.

yeah dnt use loads of chemicals some stuff says it locks ammonia what it doesnt tell you is thatits still there just your test dont pick it up. plus if you stop using it you will get a huge spike and kill your fish.

yeah my mate is very into fish keeping and when I asked him about getting a tank he said the bigger tanks are easier to look after than the smaller ones.

He had a big rectangular one with alot of fish in and has just bought a new one to replace it that takes up less room cos of its shape but has more volume. Also gone to marine fish. Has a seperate sump and filter system.

That pic is when he had just put the 1st 2 Nemos in. Has a few other fish in there now. Looks cool

I hope its good for filtration cos I'm sure a price over £200 was mentioned just for the live rock/coral

expensive hobby

he is mad on fish though.

I asked him what he did with his old fish as he had loads in his old tank and he said they are probably in the estuary by now Is there not a law against doing that or something? doesn't seem right flushing them down the loo

Very expensive hobby (well marine is) then you have loads more stuff to buy.

I don't think there is a law, I always take mine back to the fish shop (don't get nothing for it) or wait outside and give them to some kid whos grateful for them.

Thats when I had my tropical tank and either the fish were too vicious or I cleared out my tank.

Better than doing what some people do and book them

Ermmmmm not really

They do 1 of 2 things:

1) Put it in a book and close it very hard then bin it

2) Put it on the floor and jump on it and leave for the fox

IMO I think it's disgusting and totally wrong but they do only do it to the fish that have a illness or problem. Can't stop people doing what they wanna do though.

Oh i'd never do the above, especially not to marine fish that cost a bomb!!

IMO - getting a shark like that would be sooo risky and dangerous it wouldn't be worth it.

You would be very limited to the type of fish you could have with it aswell. These sharks can have upto 30 baby sharks per litter!!

I know that they may grow up to 6 feet, but it does range from being 3 to 6 feet long.

You would need a massive tank as they need space to do laps and hide behind the coral, they love to eat smaller fish aswell.

IMO it's best left to the big shops
