Not the best of days lol

Had the day of work so went to pick the run around (corsa b 1.5d) up from mechanic hes had it for a a few days to service it, I was met with a £350 bill!!!

its had 2 new rear drums + shoes and wheel bearings
1 front wheel bearing
handbrake cable
oil
oil filter
air filter

and it now has a bad leak which i need to investigate at the weekend as the passenger footwell is a swimming pool

Then I took the xe upto the MOT station to get a ticket on it in time for PVS and it failed on:

Offside headlight Alignment
Nearside rear wheel bearing
Exhaust Hydro Carbons to high

(think this may be beause the CO is very low hopefully can adjust it on the AFM)

thats my rant over!!

excesive play though im sure it will probably be ok if i take the outer bearing out re-grease and tighten the castle nut.

I had the rear breaks rebuilt about 500 miles ago so its probably just not been put back together right

I really hope not I kn ow it will be a nightmare, doesnt seem to loose any coolant and engine temp is perfect also its not hot (the puddle) if you know what i mean.

Strangely it does not do it when parked up so maybe it is??? or the water is seteling somewhere and only runing into the car when you move it.

The only way water can get into the footwell short of a hole and rain water getting in is the heater matrix. It's such a tiny ammount of water that passes through the thing that you wont notice coolent loss. You might be lucky, could be a leaky pipe...

Bet the puddle of water is a Leaky Rain Tray. Mine was cracked a year ago. water seeped in through the Pollen Filter and filled up my footwell Soon cured that!

Yep, same as Phil in my old 1.2 8v.

My dad also had the same problem with his old Omega - it was in the place the washer bottle is in a corsa - there is a drain hole to let water out instead of a rain tray. It got bloacked with leaves, so water leaked in through the pollen filter.
