the 1.8 guzzle far more fuel around town, but it is alot smoother out of the town than the 2.0, but out of the two i would chose the 2.0, 1.8 is jumpy and uses stupid amount of fuel around town/cities.

but overall these cars changed the way people looked at vauxhall's, there comfy, quite reliable and faster than other cars in it's region. also feel a lot better built than vectra's/corsa's out at that time.

Ok thanks. Was thinking of getting one at the end of the year or waiting longer and saving up for a mk4 GSI.

Think if i get an SRI it would be the 2.0 na as ive seen some nice examples at reasonable prices recently

well i owned a 1.8 mk4 astra sport, insurance was incredibly cheap, very nice car. My mate has a 2.2 sri astra, crazy amount of torque, nice and smooth engine aswell. so good cars IMO.

hmm sounds good. Yer insurance is cheap on them i was plesently shocked when i got my quote.
Will also provide me with a nice sensible car to use on a day to day basis.

i would be but i cant really change car til september when my policy runs out. As elephant dont offer a good quote and i need to go with flux. Also im presuming the car is in scotland so its a bit of a trex.

nippy? I've got the Sri Turbo so yes very
comfortable? Compared to my Mk3 Gsi its very comfy and unbelievably quiet, well was until i got my new exhaust.
