Finally got round to getting a start on my wheels. Started on the spare which was a mission, still left some corrosion bubbles but dont show up with a the paint on them.

Yeah i know, thought about removing it but thats more hassle. When the time comes it will come off. Its only the spare by the way, hence the sheer amount of rust. Will give the tyres a good clean when i come to do the whole car.

I had a drill attachment with wire bristles, followed by wire wool and some coarse wet and dry with varying gradients. Got an assorted pack from halfrauds.

You told me the other day to get it done, and broster has more than once, with added exclamation marks How do you get the weight off? Does it really matter? My bro and dad both said it doesnt.

it'll annoy you on the other ones when you come to get the wheels balanced or the tyres changed, there will be an unpainted bit underneath

they come off with pliers, or special weight pliers, and go on with a hammer

provided your wheels are correcdtly balanced, yes, but if they aren't, when they get done, the weight will probably be in a different place on the wheel

for the sake of 5 extra mins, its worth the effort
