hi there, im new on here just thought id say hello and ask my first question. ive got a 1.2 corsa vegas and can get my hands on a 1.6 out of a gsi. i was just wondering how easy it would be to swap engines, my dad has swapped engines before so has some experience, i just wondered how the brackets would line up and if i can use the gearbox out of the 1.6 etc? any comments or tips apreciated.

yeah everything is just a streight swap mate... really easy just make sure u uprate the breaks too

ok thanks mate, does anyone have any tips or any problems i may run into when swapping the engines? or is it as simple as old one out new one in and re connect everything.

does you vegas have PAS? if not you need to by the altenator belt tensioner and bracket from a 1.4 16v non PAS corsa...
you can use the 1.6 gearbox... use your 1.2 shafts... they fit straight in...
is your vegas a 1.2 16v? or a 1.2 8v.? is the engine a c16xe or a x16xe?
you need the CAT off the 1.6 too...

Vegas does not have PAS.
It's a 1.2 8v Non EcoTec.

well if the engine is a c16xe it will plug straight in...
use the drivers side engine mount off you 1.2 8v... and get the aux belt parts from a 1.4 non pas corsa...
