right well ive just fitted a new gear knob and the lift reverse sleeve n gear knob dont line up right theres a bigish gap between both.... wat do i need to do? have i done something rong do i have to cut down the shaft any help gratefull thanks

is the gear knob one for lift reverse as the base of them ar wider so the sleeve fits in them

yus it is rite for the car the knob will fit over the sleeve its just the knob wont go down that far...

Are there threads on the inside of the gear knob? If so this may be your problem, stopping the gear knob from going down further. If there are some threads there, grind them off.

well theres the collar u put on the shaft then u can screw the gear knob onto the collar... if thats wat u mean

had same prob with mine.I got a hacksaw and cut off half an inch from the gear stick!!

can i just ask how you managed 2 get the original gear knob top off?? as i have tried everything !!!

wellll i was cuttin it and using pliers to pull it off soo id say wen you do put some molegrips round it then pull n twist eventualy it comes off

Lol, cut bits off mate.
I had a chrome/silver ball on mine, but i put it back to standard for 2 reasons:
1. On cold mornings it was freezing to touch.
2. On hot days, it burnt my hand lol, just cant win!
Mine just comes off with a little pull, easy!
