500 remap on the cupra and yes you are laughing.
what will £500 get you on a civic, mugen airbox and 5 BHP?
was ready jap performance mag this morning where they were tested airboxes, exhausts and DATFLASH ECU. The amount of money you have to throw at the CTR to get even small power gains.
son on this basis i would say cupra R for cheap in comparsion tuning options.

Remap the CTR with a K-pro and you're laughing aswell.
You can't compare modded - standard, just not fair.

Most cars with a turbo can be tuned easier than N/A cars

Either way i'd take the Cupra-R and pocket the change. That way you'll have a rarer car with better tuning potential. Plus Ibiza Cupra-R's looks better than CTR's IMO IMO IMO

need to piggy back ECU on the CTR becuase of the way its done
Some company in america are the only ones who do this at the moment
Throw 500 at the cupra with a remap and you will see 220 BHP on the Cupra R and 200 on the Cupra
Throw 3K at the civic and you can supercharge it and see 350 BHP
Choice is yours
As standard pound for pound CTR is more value for money but spend 500 on a remap and the cupra will become alot more appealing
Just make sure you have deep pockets cos once the modding starts on the 1.8 T you can never stop - i should know

Not true, they both remap to the same levels. Same Engine, both K03 Turbo, only difference in engine spec is the software.
Ie average revo will give give cupra 156 - 210 ish and cupra R 180 - 210 ish also, more bang per buck on the normal cupra.

Seth is spot on with regard to money. I've spent £400 on my CTR and prob gained 10bhp. Had I bought the Seat I'd be laughing on the straights.
I love my civic as poor Steve knows as I'm one of a few peps on here that like it. Personal choice at the end of the day. I like the civic looks, but I like the fact the seat is rare and cheap to upgrade.
VTEC - It varies from honda to honda, but the civic vtec on mine has quite a kick that I wont get bored with. Bad points of VTEC of bad wheel spin in the wet all through the gears!!!
Here's a clip of mine, and yeah I know I dabed the brake on the corner when I shouldnt of done, and went to on the second but thought better of it (quick flash of brake light). Might add it was in the middle of private estate (prob shouldnt of been there) not on public highways for obvious reasons. http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&videoid=867042123&n=2
