Doesn't the signal quality deteriorate after a certain distance?

Cheap cable over a long distance, its susceptible to noise. Should be OK with good cable if its not too close to mains.

^^ as above. just try not to run it along next to a mains power lead and it should be crystal clear.

Doesnt need to be an expensive one for what you want it for munch.

I got a 5m cable for about £12, cant remember where though
