Get a yellow crayon out and mark everything up where you think it should go using a steel rule.

They line up with the side repeater at the front and then just go by eye for the rest of it, when I swapped mine i drew around the ends and marked up the sides and just swapped em straight over.

You can get away painting the rub-strips still on the car if you go to a decent bodyshop, however the ammount of cars I have seen with paint on the rubbers leads me to think that there is no such thing as a decent bodyshop

I just bought some new ones, got them painted then just swapped em straight round. Easiest way as when you pull them off it breaks the 'strengthening' bit underneath the plastic.
