Why open a enquiry?
It's not like it's the first time a player has used verbal insults towards an opponent to provoke a reaction, as long as there wasn't any racism etc in there (which Matrarzzi has denied) then there is no need, he could of called his mum/sister/dog all the names under the sun if he had liked.

Correct

also its Materazzi's word over Zidanes. If Fifa believe one over the other, the other will cry favouritism or an un-impartial decision, and i wouldnt blame them

I think the whole point of the enquiry is to determine whether or not Materazzi made racial comments. If he didn't he's got nothing to worry about, if he did then he should face a lengthy ban and a hefty fine

If there was a racial slur he has to be punished i dont see what the problem is? although if he's just said ' i slept with your mum and sister' thats part and parcel of the game of football

I don't see whats wrong with it either. It probably doesn't matter what he said/what hes going to say he said now, purely because hes admitted insulting him.

They'll look into it because they have to, it wont end up with a fine or anything.

It happens all the time on the pitch, wheres the rest of the enquiries

Fair enough if he said things about his Ill mother it's out of order but he had to ignore it and get on with game.
