ive finally come round to trying to fit it to my x14xe.

ok, now for the questions

i have an x14xe mk3 astra, which is what it will be going on.
now the inlets are different from the astra and corsa.
but heads should be the same? can someone confirm this for me?
now the water inlet hose on the lower manifold on the corsa is in the centre of the corsa lower inlet.
on the astra, its on the right hand side (battery side)

does this mean the corsa lower inlet wont fit becasue the water hose is in a different position?

any info appreciated on fitting

fit an x16xe or x14xe lower inlet from a corsa or tigra. then it will fit fine

if the head is the same, then it wont matter which inlet you use, so use the corsa one. you'll need to sort a hose though, as its in a different position, not sure if the astra one will fit

YEAH I KNOW IL HAVE TO USE THE CORSA LOWER INLET. BUT IM UNSURE IF HEADS ARE SAME AS THE POSITION OF HOSE IS DIFFERENT.
sorry bout caps. heads should be the same though? same engine code.

if the heads were the same. would there be a space on it for a water inlet in 2 dif positions? if that makes sense

its more likely that the water is channelled through the inlet differently, the head will be exactly the same

We stuck a X14XEL head on a X14XE engined corsa and it was fine, exactly the same head when we compared them, just swapped the inlets over

An X16XEL head is an X14XE head.

oh right.
the internals aswel? so an x14 head is dif to the 16xe?

so then, slightly off topic, but whats the dif then between the x14xe and the x16xel in a mk3 astra?

x14xe head is identical to the x16xel head
x16xe head is different again
c16xe head is also completely different.

the water channel on a x16xel is in the same place as all of the others, the coolant goes through a passage in the fanimold
