Need some advise form the VW people, JR, ICY etc...
I've seen a car i'm interested in and need to know fi there any good and if the price is right?
It's a 03 plate Passat 1.9TDi sport 4motion estate, it has all the extras including the W10 wheels, full leather, chrome roof rails, parking sensors etc...They are selling it for £12995 it has 28000 on the clock.
Is this any good and is it worth the extra money than the non 4motion diesel's? Is this a good price? Wot are the service intervals and aprox costs?
Thanx,
JayC

If its from the dealer 2nd hand, the dealer will be making a nice wedge on that price, best to buy private if you can

Any good sites to buy a different Grill/bumper for it? Also some lowering kits.
Already found a company who'll re-map the diesel from 130bhp to 170-180bhp for £400 cash.

I'd say if you are happy with the car and the dealer then go for it. I've just bought a Bora from a VW dealer and I really don't mind paying the extra. Nice touches like all 4 tyres are top brand, loadsa depth left. All bodywork perfect. VW's own recovery service, which is very well worth having...... and so it goes on.
Most at independants are tired/scruffy, decent ones privately are very rare, especially with the spec you have found.

Yeah it is in very good condition and I'm happy to pay it, just wanted to know if they are decent and if the 4 motion is worth the extra grand or so over the non 4motions.

Do you really neeeeeeeed four wheel drive? Hoovers the fuel, extra things to go wrong/get serviced.....
I should assume you've thought about all this stuff, but for most cars most of the time 4wd is a waste.

I want something with a bit of poke still, i've got a Vectra Sri150 estate at the mo and due to being an estate the back end is too heavy and slides out so I want the 4wheel drive for handling and it'll shift off at the lights better with a boot full.

The TDi engines are the nuts, there are loads of places that tune them to silly bhp. I think its a great choice. The price sounds about right to me.

jay, service intervals are either every 10k/12 months or varible
its proberly on varible servicing, depending on how its driven it could see up to 18k before next service
theres usally about £220 for the 1st/3rd/5th service and £350 ish for 2nd/4th/6th service

I worked for a pretty big vw dealership, did a few including the filters, mainly on the 2.8 v6 4motions though.
