on my k800i i sometimes get an icon appear in the top left of the screen, next to the signal strenght bar.

problem is i dont know what the fudge it is and theres sweet fa in the manual about it

its basically a blue box with some circles inside it

anyone got any ideas as to what it is? or what it does?

Thats the 3G symbol , it comes on when connected to a 3G network then goes if your a in a poor reception area and your auto logged onto the 2.5 network (standard).

according to what ive read on the net logging on to a 3g network zaps the power from the phone so if youre experiencing shitty battery life it may be better to switch it to a permanent 2.5g connection

How do you do that on a k800i?

I haven't noticed any poor battery life as yet mind you, as I've never used the internet while that logo is on screen as I didn't realise that's what it was, and I doesn't appear much round here anyway - It usually appears after I've been driving and then check my phone, even then it dissapears quite quick. I must drive through the 3G area and back out again.

If u want to do this then Settings/Connectivity/Mobile Networks/GSM-3G Networks.

change to GSM only.
