recently wired up my 6by9's! sound quality is great but when i turn the volume down to a lowish level, theres a high pitched tone coming from the them, like the sort of noise you get when you get a bad reception on your radio, anyone no what this sound is there for, would like to get rid of it if possible to make the music more clear when at a low volume!

anyone that can help me please?

It does sound like a bad earth. When you connected your earth, did you remove the paint from the area you were connecting to? Is the noise there if the engine is turned off?

If the sound isn't there when the engine is off, it's most probably alternator whine. You will probably notice (as jake mentioned) the noise getting louder if you rev the engine.

Its caused by a bad earth, and if you haven't removed the paint from your earthing point then that sounds like your problem

Get some wire wool and remove the paint down to the metal, and make sure it's a good tight connection when you put it back on
