I have a mate, whos putting a 2.0 ltr ford engine in his escort, rekons he'll be running 250 bhp from a standard 130 bhp just after cams re-map and throttle bodies... What you guys rekon? Also, A corsa with a 2.0 ltr, same mods, whose goin to be quicker?

he's probably not far off. ford zetecs are great for tuning.

the 2.o mondeo engines ave 130bhp,but they aint quick cause my mate has one in his feesty Si. but the 150bhp engines are good,my mates building a yellow mk1 feest with one in it, i wood still be hoping for a good race wif it tho?

Hes using a Ford 2.0 zetec engine, out of a Mondeo, m8s used 1 in his fiesta, n it is 130 standard. Surely Redtop's better than Zetecs for tuning..

after a bit of research, 250bhp might be a bit ambitious. probably 210, with TBs, and a slightly fettled head....

would be quicker than a corsa xe.

Just a thought as they both 2.0 2 start off with and Vauxhall can produce 20bhp more as standard

thats only because the Xe is easier to fit into an old ford than a zetec Kev.

20bhp more standard doesnt mean it will be better to tune.

Going abit off topic here! Sorry! Does any1 no if the F20 gearboxes come with a standard LSD! I want one, and Fords can use the Escort Rs Turbo Gearbox..

No F20's came with LSD's.

The only Vauxhall boxes that did were those South African Mk3 Astra Saloons, with a LET in and 5 stud. They had F28's with an LSD.

Named the TS, from what i heard they were pretty rapid but gear boxes caused problems.
