Arsenal heavily linked with Javier Mascherano today... great player but would be a completely pointless purchase unless Gilberto (the MAN) leaves!

I love Gilberto. Think he is one of the most underated players in the Premiership.
Plus I dont think you can replace Fabregas.
So yeah, a pointless signing. Especially as we have Flamini, Song and (when fit) Diaby as back up.

I think we as Arsenal fans are in debt to Flamini for his left back performances last year. Couldnt be easy for a right footed central midfielder to play left back....

Clichy. I think he is very good. More attack minded that maybe Flamini is, and fucking fast too.

Javier Mascherano will be an awesome signing if it comes off. first choice will be cesc and mascherano with gilberto as backup and diaby as well when he comes back.
my line up would be
Jens
Eboue,Toure,Gallas,Clichy
Freddie,Cesc, Mascherano,Rosicky
Henry, Van Persie

Can't drop Gilberto, he is top top class...
I would play this season (IMO)
Lehmann
Eboue Toure Senderos/Gallas Clichy/Cole
Hleb Gilberto Cesc Rosicky
Henry Walcott/van Persie
Freddie losing it a bit IMO as he gets older, Hleb is top top draw on his day!

my mistake i would play hleb instead of freddie.
I would drop Bert for Javier, he would still get lots of games. Them 3 could rotate without any problems in my eyes.

True, strenght in depth is never a worry

I would to have seen us sell freddie and purchase Ribery (although it sounds liek we have 1st option with a guaranteed move next summer!)
Also, I hear that Wenger tuend down a strauight swap involving robinho and reyes FOOL!!!!
He bid several times for Robinho before he joined Real!!!

I think that Hleb blows hot and cold. On Wednesday he gave the ball away lots. Yet tail end of last season I thought he was superb.

I disagree with that, I think Freddie is a fabulous player, just not playing in his best position which is just behind Henry. He used to score a fair amount of goals from there.

and thats when I feel he plays best he has a great ability of darting into the box at the right moment, but I agree that he hasn't played as well as of late. But I wouldn't drop him

Very very pleased to see Justin Hoyte getting his chance, he is a class young defender... can play across back line anywhere and Kerrea Gilbert looks quality too Both good young ENGLISH defenders
