Has anybody else noticed the mahooooosive drp in prices latley?!!!
Just checked and the AMD athlon 64's dual core are down massivley in price(probably down the Intel releasing their new dual chip!)
I am an AMD man but I am also very very tempted to buy this new Intel chip!

Is anybody else also thinking of upgrading?

i am considering it as i dont have a dual core, but it would mean changing my mobo as im currently using AMD.
if i was to upgrade, i think i would look at the Intel E6600
For the difference compared to performance, they're a bargin

I bought a duel core AMD a few months back (before the price crash ) and I love it, if you're someone who runs a few different app's at once then it's for you

Well I am considering it BUT, i don't run many app's at once i just love to have a top comp
Upping my ram to 2 GB too but changing to intel would mean a change in mobo too!
I am certainly loving this price crash though!

Stick with the AMD to save changing MoBo.
You'd be surprised at hoe much quicker you'll find it and how ofetn you do run a couple of apps together.
Go with the AMD, like you say they are cheap as chips () at the moment.

I will be able to keep current mobo as its a Asus A8N sli premium and they support the dual core.
Premium supports both single and dual.
But i will need to change mobo if i change to the dark side(intel).

Yey I beat Clive in a geekfest!
Purely by luck however!
He will need to download updated mobo drivers/BIOS to enable it for duelcore processing - I know this as I also have the Asus A8N mobo and I had to do it
I liked the pun, very "geeky-chic" I though
