Went and started the car tonight , sounded great so took it round the block a few times and it drove really really nice !! Was well pleased with it and when I got back I decided I'd have a look at the MAP sensor as it was flashing up on the paperclip test.

Disconnected both the pipe and cable and checked the vacum from the pipe , which was fine.

Put it all back together and started the car , misfiring and not being able to rev without stalling now

Totally pissed off with it because it was finally running good , I'm getting a new ecu for it but this was not the reason , it has to have been something with the map sensor that I have done !!

Also it was lightly raining outside but I really doubt this would affect it ?

don't think they have limp mode on them, does it run better with it unplugged (the vac hose) had a mate how had to run with it disconnected to run better , which must of been a map sensor fault. got any mates with 1.4 or 1.6 16v's to swap over too check?

check the feed to the sensor is still good. its code 36 or someting. it tends to mean its got a low or zero voltage getting to the sensor
