swap the ECU? i will have to tell them tomrrow, lol. but wont that mean i need the keys from the old car too?
adam, i fried the piston rings, killed the gear ox, and the clutch slips like hell.
it was cheeper to buy and fit a new engine than get it fixed.

the problem still hasnt been sorted.
everything we can think of has been looked at. the only think that we can think of is the imobaliser need re-coding, and to get a new key.
the engine management light flashes also.
anyone got any ideas?
cheers

put ur old ecu on ur new engine and use ur old keys. If the problem persists then its not the imobiliser. Also i dont think it would even turn over if the imobiliser is on, mine doesnt with an after market cat 1 system.

If the ecu light is flashing it IS to do with the factory transponder immobiliser.
You want your old ecu and the chip out of the old key,
Or the new ecu and the chip out of the car it came from.
