I saw this advertised on TV but wasn't really paying attention. Just heard that if you're out and you forgot to set the recording you can text your Sky+ box and recording can be set remotely

Does anyone know anything about this?

was looking at this on the sky website yesterday.

pretty cool function IMO and you can have up to 8 mobiles registered to the same box to use it.

you gotta register your mobile with it through "interactive" on the sky system. have a look on the website for more info dave

i have been having problems with mine lately as well mate, HDD was fcuked and couldn't Pause, Rewind or save anything etc..

I keep meaning to call them. Im going to call them first thing when I get home. I need my Sky in perfect working order for when I get my new TV.

you just send a text in a specific format to Sky. i.e.

The Simpsons. Sky One. 180.

Have to do it 30 minutes before the program starts so they can action it otherwise it's not guaranteed. They then obviously do something remotely and bobs your uncle

If you have a fancy phone then you can download an app and actually view the listings as you do on your Sky at home

Does anyone know if it's just the ability to setup and record a certain channel at a certain time or can you use the interactive services aswell?
Main reason being that when champions league is on sky sports I like to choose which match to watch/record - can that be done via a mobile?

The main advantage Jules is if you forget to set the recording using the Planner.

You just specify the program, channel and start time and job done.

Got the following back:

We're sorry but we couldn't find the program you requested.
