Author need help locking down a netgear router to physical connections

right i have managed to lock down the wireless on my netgear router.

however this doesnt stop my brother walking up to it and plugging a cat 5 lead into it for his laptop. Cant see how i can bar physical connections to the router though?

Why don't you want him to use it, if you don't mind me asking?

I just had a look on my Netgear router settings I can't find a way of blocking ethernet connections in the setup...

i knew id get asked that, basically my brother is a freeloader or a leach if you like.

he never asked, just got a cat 5 and plugs into my router in the hallway then surfs for like 10 hours, he doesnt pay a penny, i pay all the bills for it, my router etc etc.

so no way of locking it down then?

I don't think so.

Extortion is the way forward in your case, SetH. Make him give you money towards internet usage...

Stop the DHCP service and give your self a static i.p address on a weird range that he wont guess

Can't you use MAC Address filtering?
