cheers guys, just checked the oil and theres looooads! i knew it hadnt ran out but my dad insisted it needed oil!
now is that whats gonna be makin it run like this? and will it have caused any damage?

just been to see a mechanic, he reckons im loosin oil pressure and i may have fucked up the engine, whoop-de-do

I would make sure oil level is on the maximum on dipstick. Sounds like you may have too much oil. Then run it up and see what its like. If it still runs crap then you could fit a second hand engine for a few hundred quid.

well its at mechanics now(hes a mate) gonna try fix it then im gettin rid! borrowed an 02 reg clio at the moment, lets see what i think of that

tbh its unlikely you've done much damage, if any, as the oil will just go through the breather into the manifold and be burnt away!
as said, drain the oil till its at HALF between min and max on the dipstick, let the engine run for about 5 mins, check oil with the dipstick NOT the light, top-up if needed, and then just run the engine till the oil burns out from the exhaust and the white smoke stops...
then get a new oil pressure sensor, fit it, and beat your dad around the head with the old one
