after owning 3 corsa's i have always wondered why if you hold the two buttons down on the clock display it goes to kilometers per hour then resets?

is there anyway of getting it to stay like that

It was something to do with one of the standard fit radios having speed sensitive volume. Basically, it got louder as you went quicker, up until about 50mph where it didn't get any louder.
I don't think you can keep it on that display though.
