i got pulled for doing 60 on a 40limit dual carriageway,(yes i know but it was really late and quiet) the officer gave me a talking to about taking more care, and more stuff to make me think less about speeding then he was on his way, no ticket or anything so i assumed i have been let off... but it was an omega with the little cam at the top of the windscreen, so now bit paranoid im gonna get something in the post, he Did make it sound like he was letting me off though,? any ideas@?

Sometimes if you don't act like a twat to the Police and you are genuinely sorry then they do just give you a bollocking and let you go on your way with no ticket. Sounds like what has happened here - happened to me once...

You can only get something through the post WITHIN 14 days and if he gave you a little speach about a "Notice of Intended Prosecution" (NIP) google it

Else you are safe

(PS beware sometimes the NIP are on Producer forms(HORT1's) so read them carefully)

I've been in this situation before.

I would have had a ban, but didn't for 2 reasons

1) The police officer could not be sure that I was doing the speed he thought

2) I was polite and apologetic, and admitted I was speeding, even though he thought I was going faster.

As said, he would have made it VERY clear if you were getting a ticket.

Don't buy a Porsche Cayman if you like speeding - the air intake pops up at 80mph. As Clarkson put it, "Should help the law with their enquries" - I'm sure you all knew that anyway.
