I have been quoted £400 for a full respray, because of my new kit want to get the whole thing done at once.
Thats in a standard manufacturer colour, split colour I asked about for top and bottom different was £500.
Seen this guys work done and seen the quality, so I would say £400-£600 is about right.
Depends though, if you go to certain bodyshops they will be talking more around £1000-£1500.

Yeah I am prepping my bumpers and side skirts myself to save the work, may even attempt the wings because of a little idea I have had, so will be even cheaper........bonus.

For the best job, you should be looking at around £1500 minimum.

haha. £1500 or its gonna be a shit job?
We've painted a wagon (colour change) and done a top job for less than that.
I could give my corsa a full respray in the same colour for less than £200 in costs.
The quality of the job jus depends on the sanding paper used, the quality of paint. the quality of spray gun and the quality of spray booth.

You might not even need a full respray. If the colour underneath is ok, a "blow over" i believe its called is all thats needed.
No need to respray unless its fucked or your goin a diff colour? Or so i am led to believe?

Aye am in the trade.
It all depends on the size of the paintshop to be honest.
A small business, one man, one booth, ur probably lookin at around 400 - 600 depending on chips dents etc.
A larger business which is using its reputation (All these modded car overpriced places) may charge 1000 + for a job of the same standard.
Its not gonna cost much more than 300 in materails then + labour for a couple of days.
Am not sure wot that colour is like but unless it contains a flip/flake etc i doubt it will cost much more.

yeah, but i bet thats not the car completely stripped with the windows out. The doors taken off, the tailgate off, the bonnet off, The bumpers off. With the shuts getting just as good of a finish as the major panels. We priode our selves on producing the best. This takes time, and time means paying people.
When we paint a car, we paint it properly, we dont just mask up what doesnt need to be painted.
We also give the car a twin coat of lacquer, so when the car gets lacquered it gets baked, flattened down, remasked and recoated in lacquer for a deaper/ glossier finish.
The car then gets flattened and polished to a finish which is probably better than most factory finishies.
The paint we use gives the customer a 5 year warrenty scheme, more than any other scheme/company.
Our paint facilites arte among the best in the country. Thats why our price is £1500.
Its not just a case of do a few repairs, key the paint and stick a new coat on it, with a crappy old booth that probably gives a nice dusty/dirty basecoat. Or painting with a pish compressor thans probably blowing more oil and water onto the car than paint.
If someone offered to respray my car for £600 etc etc, i wouldnt even consider it.
If a jobs worth doing, its worth doing right.
PS.
This is me not trying to cause an argument or put you down as i dont know anything about you, like you with me. Im just going on past experiences... generally low prices means corners are cut, car is done in crap facilites and poor conditions with old equipment thats not fit to paint a bus.

Certainly could mate. Drop me a u2u with some details on the car and what ou want done.
But for talkings sake... i would class the lotus colour as standard, its probably a 2 or 3 stage pearl, which means it need s coloured basecoat applied before the proper colour (pearl applied). The base colour is basically part of the equation which makes up the final colour.
We dont really say standard colour. Its either a colour change or not. Thats about as technical as it gets, in this case it would be a colour change and the pearl paint probably wouldnt be much more than a standard colour the only difference would be that there would be an extra colour required if the paint was a 2 or 3 stage pearl like i say.
